How to produce a good mood board and for it to deliver the correct message

How to produce a well structured mood board...

  • Mood boards are what inspire you, creating textures with art and make-up and grabbing it all and putting it together.
  • Grab inspiration from a variety of sources, never limit yourself
  • Too produce a good moodboard, use a wide range from textures, it is a working progress, reflect on feedback from peers to adapt or change mood and story board to fit what you want. This is important, critic is essential to improve and get better.
  • We need to develop your make-up charts based on your key word and inspiration from my chosen images from pinterest. Play around and test ideas, the more mistakes you make you can learn and adapt from them and get better as an artist.
  • My chosen word is 'Fresh' and my brand is 'NARS' - how to link the two and make them work.
  • We also looked through art magazines, with use of textures and ideas, to inspire us to develop our mood boards further, which I found helpful, in order to expand our ideas beyond the literal meaning behind our word.
I also watched this youtube video to help me structure out a mood board and what to use for it to make sense to the audience to show a direction on where it is going and the theme.
